Members,

Yesterday (18 August 2024) we held our annual Barbecue which is still proving popular both as a fundraising event and just as important an enjoyable social event. Numbers were slightly down on previous years but it was well attended and raised much needed funds.

Thanks go to Terry for organising the drive which was both fun and competitive. The raffle was well supported both by those who purchased raffle tickets and especially by our generous members and friends who donated the prizes. Jenny, Bridget and Ray did an excellent job and ensured that nobody got away without purchasing Raffle tickets.
Special thanks go to Richard, Mac and Peter who were the barbecue chefs and really know how to present a well cooked Burger and Banger. Equal thanks go to Jackie, Audrey, Lynne, Jan and Gloria for organising the Pimms and preparing the bread rolls.

The event was a financial success, Mac reports that we have a total profit for the day of £197.57 for the barbecue + Raffle proceeds of £133 = £330.57.
