Message from our Chairman

Members,

May I take this opportunity of thanking all who contributed to making the quiz night such a success.  Terry Moon for his success in getting 20 teams to participate and setting the questions,  also to him, Carol and Suzanne for their organisation on the night.

Of course the real hard work was done by the ladies of the catering committee who did a fantastic job feeding  the ‘5,000’, well not quite but there were 125 meals to prepare which included two unexpected late additions, well done ladies, I hope you all relaxed with a glass of 🍷 afterwards.

The raffle went very well thanks to the generosity of the members who donated the 26 prizes and the persistent hard selling of Judy and Abbey, raising £350.00.

Thank you everyone, evenings like this help to ensure we can continue to maintain our excellent facilities at the Bowls Club. The evening raised just over £1,000.00.

At the beginning of the evening a cheque for £600 (monies raised by members of the Bowls Club) in the aid of Prostate Cancer UK was presented by our President, Arthur Hunt, to two nurses from Peterborough City Oncology Department.
