Woods Team Members,

Well here we are at the end of a disappointing season, but we, as a team played some good games, in the Premier Division, against some top class players. We were promoted last season after finishing in an unassailable position 6 points clear of the team in second place, which if we hadn’t unfairly been penalised 5 points could have been 11 points. We started the season in a difficult position due to losing three experienced players from last year, which we had difficulty replacing in addition some of our players had problems with injuries and their health. But having said that after our first three games we were sitting at the top of the table, we then hit a bad patch and didn’t win another game until August, however we scored points in all our games apart from three.

Next season the Longthorpe Woods will be back in the Club 55 First Division, so let’s ensure that we have a team that can play a good game of bowls and finish the 2025 season in a healthy position.

Well done Woods we didn’t win but we were honourable losers.
